Permanent makeup (PMU), micropigmentation and cosmetic tattooing are overlapping terms whose exact legal meaning can vary by location. PMU commonly includes brows, eyeliner and lip colour; microblading is a manual brow method within cosmetic tattooing. Scalp micropigmentation and restorative work require their own scope questions.
