Before you agree
- The artist discusses the requested result, design, colour, likely fading, session plan and realistic limitations.
- Relevant health information, previous cosmetic tattooing and possible reasons to postpone or refer are handled privately.
- The artist explains whether a patch or sensitivity test is relevant to the products and rules that apply.
- Consent to treatment, photographs and marketing use are separate, understandable choices.
During setup and service
- The treatment area, couch, light and touched controls can be cleaned or are appropriately protected.
- Sterile single-use needle modules and disposable items are opened for the client and discarded safely.
- Fresh gloves, hand hygiene and contamination controls continue throughout setup, treatment and cleanup.
- Products are used within their intended scope and according to current manufacturer information.
Records and evidence to check
- Ask about training for the exact procedure, local permission, premises requirements and appropriate insurance.
- Pigment or colourant brand, shade, batch or lot and expiry information should be traceable in the client record.
- Receive written preparation, aftercare, follow-up and escalation information before leaving.
- Validate any BAQA claim using the matching directory or validation tool.
Pause and ask more when
- Promises of identical healed results, permanent colour certainty or a risk-free treatment.
- No private consultation, incomplete consent or pressure to proceed despite unresolved suitability questions.
- Unlabelled products, poor traceability or reluctance to identify what will be implanted into the skin.
- A training certificate is presented as if it were automatically a local licence.
